I have decided I love this name.

What do others think?

Love it

emmyloo2 · 25/06/2010 16:08

Excellent, it's going onto the list. I just find it such a classic pretty name. Just the sound of it is lovely. Do you have one MadameCheese?

Good'un

randomimposter · 25/06/2010 16:46

Prefer Lara myself, but fairly unusual these days (I was at university with quite a lot)...

LC200 · 25/06/2010 17:07

I LOVE it. Also it's really unusual these days. It's a really pretty, classic name. My SIL is Laura, although MIL persists in calling her Lorna (not so pretty imo).

diplodoris · 25/06/2010 17:08

Lovely

Hedwig3 · 25/06/2010 17:49

Lovely.

KittyBigglesworth · 25/06/2010 18:02

Like both Laura and Lara, possibly Lara a little more but not much in it.

Agree with LC200, Lorna is not so good.

MumInBeds · 25/06/2010 18:15

Laura is lovely.

Lara has too much of a link to the tight-clothed leaping-about computer game character for me.

KittyBigglesworth · 25/06/2010 18:28

Yes, there is that but also the character in Boris Pasternak novel, Dr Zhivago.

Laura is safer and is clearly well liked.

Rockbird · 25/06/2010 20:02

Lovely and underused these days

twolittlemonkeys · 25/06/2010 20:08

Love it

megonthemoon · 25/06/2010 20:17

I love it but it pretty much rhymes with our surname so can't use it for DD due in Sept. I have only ever known lovely Lauras as well, so have really good vibes about it as a name.

Loriycs · 26/06/2010 01:10

lovely timeless name

missgenevieveclavel · 26/06/2010 09:14

Lovely, timeless and underused at the moment.

cherrylips · 26/06/2010 17:35

Love it!!! my dd1 is Laura :-).

So pretty.

Honeywitch · 26/06/2010 17:38

Like this, also Lauren, just make sure you steer clear of Ashley for any siblings!

Caoimhe · 26/06/2010 17:40

Lauren was hugely popular 12 or so years ago but seems to have tailed off.

Laura is a beautiful name.

I think its a pretty, classic name.

weblette · 26/06/2010 19:32

I have a Laura and so think it's a lovely name, no bias, honest!!! We never come across many, she's certainly the only one amongst her peers in our area.

We considered Lara but as she was born around the time of the Tomb Raider films it was a no-no.

liliputlady · 27/06/2010 19:21

It's lovely.

Kathleen123 · 28/06/2010 14:17

Timeless. Lovely.

emmyloo2 · 28/06/2010 14:31

I still love it, but now found out I am having a little boy and I suspect he wouldn't like to be called Laura!
