Am pregnant with my first and BF and I have been discussing names. What do you tink of Jennifer Grace for a girl and Finlay Philip for a boy?

Love the girls name - not sure about the two F sounds in the boys.

weegiemum · 21/06/2010 22:13

Like the girls, although Grace is very popular i that bothers you at all.

I like both Finlay and Philip, (Philip not quite so much) but as DibDab says, not together!

vicbar · 21/06/2010 22:13

I love the girls name but I also think its too F sounding for a boy. Love Finlay though

MrsKitty · 21/06/2010 22:16

I really like Jennifer - You don't seem to hear it much at the moment. Not fussed on Grace.

Finlay is lovely, and Phillip is OK, but like others have said - not together!

Fontella · 21/06/2010 22:22

I'm a Jennie (not Jennifer) so I'm a bit biased there. There were lots of Jennifers around when I was at school and invariably we always called them Jenny, so there were a lot of us.

It's fallen out of fashion in the years since then and it would be lovely to see it make a come back.

Jennifer Grace is a lovely name, I like the boys' names you are considering too, but as previous posters have said - maybe not together.

dannap · 21/06/2010 22:24

Love all of the names. Agree with others on the double F sounds though.

jkklpu · 21/06/2010 22:28

really like the girl's names
Finlay is incredibly popular just now, which you should bear in mind as your ds might well be one of several in his class forever

diplodoris · 21/06/2010 23:06

Jennifer Grace would be a lovely name

I like Philip, but not Finlay. Agree with other posters about the double F sounds. Personally I'd go for Philip as the first name, with another middle name.

mathanxiety · 22/06/2010 06:01

What a lovely name Jennifer is -- and unusual now too. Jennifer Grace sounds very nice.

Another here who prefers Philip to Finlay.

MissCKitty · 22/06/2010 09:01

Jennifer is after my BFs mom who passed away when he was 11 so its lovely that you guys all love it. I really love Finlay but I'm also not sure about putting it with Philip but Philip is my BF's name so he would like it. However if anyone has any alternative suggestions maybe i can persuade him otherwise

Jennifer is nice (Jennie is awful though!)
Like Finley (rather than Finlay) but as others have said Philip doesn't go with it. Wouldn't have Philip as a first name - Phil! Oh no!!!

MamaLazarou · 22/06/2010 10:06

Jennifer is lovely.

I can't think of anything nice to say about the name Finlay, though.

Hedwig3 · 23/06/2010 09:59

Lovely girls name.

Fontella · 23/06/2010 12:04

I can't help what my parents called me NiceCuppa!

What's so offensive about Jennie? It's never caused me any problems.
