thanks for your replies! We have a shortlist of 4 girls names and rose fits all of them as a MN, so yep I guess that's why it's popular...like Ann and Louise and Jane used to be in the 70's!

My little girls first name is Eleanor Rose

It is popular so is Grace but my DD1 has grace as a middle name as it sounded nice with her 1st name.
If it goes use it the whole middle name debate is overated you hardly ever use it anyway. Saying that Im determined to use Clemantine and the only concession I can see DH making is as a MN. - 5weeks to work on him

I think Rose is a lovely name, that's why it gets used a lot I suppose.

Rose, Grace and May seem to be popular middle names for this generation - when I was born (70s)it was mainly Jane, Marie or Louise as middle names

LimaCharlie · 23/06/2010 10:11

But not boring at all - sorry forgot to say that

alirosie · 23/06/2010 10:14

it could be worse - you could have rosemary my middle name

It is very popular, but its also timeless.
