I saw this suggested on a thread a couple of weeks ago - what do people think about it? I think it is so pretty!

Do you think a girl named this would spend their whole life correcting people who thought they were in fact called 'Ebony'?!

It is a pretty name, although I think it might be mis-heard as Emily.

It's ok, a bit american, they make names out of nothing. I have a cousin called Valle [Vallee] which is wierd but it does grow on you. Maybe this will too. I think you will have a lot people mistaking it for Ebony though.

The first thing I thought of on reading was "and ivory" it is pretty but I think it would often get confused with Ebony as you suggest.
