Love Ernie for a little boy, not sure it's a grown up name, but then Ernest is very old man. Does anyone like it?

my dh loves it..it was his grandad's name and he would dearly love to give it to his son if he has one...when i got pregnant with dc 2 i persuaded him to name his business earnest instead which has got me off the hook as i can't say i'm a huge fan ;) ernie is quite cute but still think they may get rather a lot of stick at school!

Sorry, makes me think of that song about the fastest milk cart in the West.

I think Ernie/Ernest is horrid. It reminds me of those 'Ernest goes to...' films.

Divatheshopaholic · 10/06/2010 15:17

My friend got Ernie the hedgehog. Quite cute name

tummytickler · 10/06/2010 16:17

I like Ernest - but Ernie makes me think of Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street.

It's a computer that picks winning premium bonds.

I do like Eric though.

Hedwig3 · 11/06/2010 11:14

Love Ernest.

crazybaker · 11/06/2010 17:10

I love Ernie, I think it's a great name. If my DC2 is a boy it's going to be his middle name as my DH won't let me have it as the first name (although I'm working on it).

zozzle · 11/06/2010 17:44

Not keen - a bit old man

sunchild77 · 11/06/2010 17:52

We have a friend Ernest who gets Erns/Ernie. He's mid20s and really suits it.
