Starting to think about girls names (baby due early December) and I am considering the name Holly. I think it's really pretty - what do others think? I am also thinking about using my maiden name 'Peace' for a middle name

I have to say, I think it sounds like Christmas greeting card... It's such a predictable name for a Christmas baby and a bit unoriginal?? I know about 5 Holly's and they are all like 'yes, guess what, I was born in December but at least it beats Mary' And Holly is such a horrid, spikey plant too! Better than poison Ivy though!

I like Holly and the fact that she will be born in december. would be a bit daft if you werent born in dec really! Holly is a beautiful plant too.

i am due in december as well, had scan yesterday so can now start thinking of names - husb came up with Rudolph! Oh dear....

I personally love it. My daughter was born in December 09 and is Holly Elizabeth.

p.s. always loved the name, and is a coincidence I was due and she was born in December, I would have considered it whatever month she was born.

It's a pretty name no matter what time of year they are born!

I love this name, and don't think it has to be restricted to December babies at all.

Babies are called all sorts of flower names these days (Poppy, Lily, Rose, Daisy, Ivy, Iris, etc, etc, ad infinitum), and nobody expects them to be born when that flower is in bloom.

i picked holly because i loved the name my holly was then born a month early on christmas eve and just made the name even more perfect.

Love it - I have a Christmas baby and one of her names is seasonal - v special!

Nice enough but are gazillions of Holly's round here - three on my road alone - all under the age of 4.
