I really like it

Lovely name. Do you pronounce it Ell-eye-as?

missgenevieveclavel · 08/06/2010 16:13

I like it a lot- great choice!

Missus84 · 08/06/2010 16:35

Pidgin, I'd pronounce it like that - similar to Elijah.

Glad people are positive, think it's my top name now

Beautiful name. This was my choice for DS2 but stupidly let my family put me off, I really regret not sticking to my guns and am not at all happy with the name we chose in the end - bit late now as DS2 just turned one Go for it!

I love it - but pronounced El-ee-us.

It's strange because this is one of my favourite boys' names ever but I really don't like Elliot - even though they seem quite similar.

meadowlarks · 08/06/2010 18:52

I think I prefer "El-eye-us" over "El-ee-us" personally, but both are nice. I think if you didn't stress the "S" people would hear Elliott the first time.

lidofabiro · 08/06/2010 18:58

Eh-lye-us

Missus84 · 08/06/2010 21:26

I've not heard it pronounced El-ee-us before.

I'm basing my opinion on pupils I've taught in the past who were Muslim - usually spelled Elyas but sometimes Elias - but always pronounced with the 'Ee' sound in the middle.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 08/06/2010 21:45

Love El-eye-us, but not so keen on El-ee-us

spiderlight · 09/06/2010 00:05

I love it - it was on my list. Eli as a nickname is also fab.

Hermya321 · 09/06/2010 09:04

Love it!!!
