Cassius, Cass for short, is really growing on me for DS1 due next week but DH thinks may sound too Roman! What do you all think?

Cassius Clay.

Good strong name, but he might get teased if he's called Cass (a girls name imo - short for Cassie/Cassandra)

A friend's son has this name. I think it's cool.

Teddyisonhisway · 08/06/2010 08:59

Ooh, love that!

lidofabiro · 08/06/2010 09:03

I like it, but only if pronounced Cass-ee-us and not Cash-us.

grumpypants · 08/06/2010 09:05

floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee...is that right?

ShowOfHands · 08/06/2010 09:06

Great name btw. Never hear it in rl but hear it discussed on here, usually positively.

I have a cassius as well (cass-ee-us). still love that name. in nursery he is often called cass, but not in a girly way iyswim.

notso · 08/06/2010 13:59

I like Cassius, but my Dad pronounces it Cassyus which put's me off it a bit.

dizzydixies · 08/06/2010 14:01

love it, would have been DD3s name had she been blue - either that of Cassian

hi froggie

Pfishofplight · 08/06/2010 14:13

I love it and would use it if dp could be persuaded.

MagalyZz · 08/06/2010 17:49

It's like it.

But what's wrong with a name sounding Roman though!? I love names like Marius, Marcus, Julius, Aurelius.. Roman Classics make excellent names imo

SirBoobAlot · 08/06/2010 18:28

Love it!

PixieCake · 08/06/2010 18:29

Not keen. Sorry!
