Been looking through some baby name sites to find some inspiration for soon to be Ds and found this name.

Apparently the woman wanted Nevaeh (Heaven backwards) but it's too "popular" so instead she wants to call her Dd Traeh pronounced Tray-Uh, Heart spealt backwards!!

I think it's lovely, So imaginiative.

Pronounced like that it sounds nice but I would see it and say tree

Marciii · 08/06/2010 23:06

In my opinion anyone using a name that their child is unlikely to ever encounter again has probably gone too far.

People think they are being so clever with things like 'it's heart spelt backwards'. They probably thought their 'my tattoo is the chinese character for eternal bliss' was clever too.

Not to my taste, but all names have an origin and a meaning, don't they? Isn't this just another "make fun of lower-class people and their ridiculous tastes" thread?

annh · 08/06/2010 23:20

Yes, but reversing the letters in a word to make a name does not give it meaning, does it?

meadowlarks · 08/06/2010 23:27

Well, I actually like the sound of it, but I don't agree with the concept of taking any nice word and reversing it to make a non-existent name.

scurryfunge · 08/06/2010 23:32

Call your child what you like...all names are made up anyway.

MagalyZz · 09/06/2010 14:31

Love backwards evol. So does Evol mean love or hate?

this reversing words thing is a bit strange imo

sedgiebaby · 09/06/2010 14:51

agree with meadowlarks except to add that it has a more feminine sound to me

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/06/2010 14:57

I think Eloh-Esra has a certain je ne sais quoi about it.

Did I mention anything about "Classes". It was an American site so I presume an American woman and as far as I know they don't really have "Classes" for names there like we do in the UK! (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I just know how much people love giving their opinions on names here and thought it would be interesting to see some opinions on this.

Oh yes there are 'classes' in the US, for names and everything else, but nobody talks about it.

Psammead · 10/06/2010 09:39

Oh my! MrsSchadenfreude - quote of the week!

BarbieLovesKen · 10/06/2010 09:51

I think its cute, but sounds like a girls name to me...

mathanxiety · 10/06/2010 23:54

The opposite of love would be indifference, Magaly..
