Jeremiah (Jem for short)?

I love the shortening Jem for a boy but I don't like James or Jeremy.
Jeremiah, though is really growing on me.
Seems to be very popular in the US but not so over here.
Ds1 and Ds2 have very unusual non-biblical names - does that matter?

Or if all else fails could I just use Jem as a name?

Like Jem, cannot stand Jeremiah. Too Bible-belt US for me. Too old testament

I really like Jeremiah, much prefer it to Jeremy.

If this person is English I'm sure they won't be associated with the US Bible Belt.

My x bil was a Jem (actually still is).

Jem is a character from To Kill a Mockingbird I think. So that doesn't sound too bible belt to me? but I don't know. I'm not American, not familiar with the bible either!!

'Tis an old song though. Probably hardly anyone he's at school with would have heard of it.

I like Jeremiah. Remiah is a better nickname though imo

I like Jeremiah and Jem. on principle, I think it's nice for a DC to have a choice (unless you absolutely hate the longer version, and even then, the DC might not hate it)

I love Jem, and like you not keen on James or Jeremy. BUT I do like Jerome, so think I will go for that (hopefully at some point in the future!).

But I also do know a couple of Jems in their own right...
