I would go for Annie but then I am deeply biased as dd (15 weeks) is Annie and she is most definitely sweet, wholesome and beautiful .

lidofabiro · 02/06/2010 10:02

Prefer Annie

Hedwig3 · 02/06/2010 10:09

I really like both, and Pearl too!

mummyneedschocolate · 02/06/2010 10:54

I have a Maggie (19weeks), it's a lovely, pretty name. It's short for Margaret & I like the fact that it's a Saint's name, classic and timeless. It's much less common than Ann/Anna/Annie etc too.

swanandduck · 02/06/2010 13:03

I like Annie and think it's quite quirky. Not mad on Maggie, bit old lady.

SqueezyB · 02/06/2010 13:33

I love them both, but only as NNs, so for me Annie would have to be Anna or Annabel and Maggie would have to be Margaret/Magdelena/Margot or something. In fact that's the reason I crossed Maggie off my list as I couldn't find a long version that I liked!

liliputlady · 02/06/2010 14:16

Annie

sedgiebaby · 02/06/2010 14:22

Maggie for me

BollieNickers · 02/06/2010 14:38

Annie gets my vote

I like both, but Annie slightly more

However, I would choose Margaret and then good choice of nn - Meg, Maggie and Peggy

Jamieandhismagictorch · 02/06/2010 20:25

hi secondcoming - how long now ?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 02/06/2010 20:26

BTW - I hate Thatcher as much as the next 70s child, but wouldn't rule it out

Great secondcoming

SpringHeeledJack · 02/06/2010 21:21

I've got a Maggie! and a Frank- with Stanley for a middle name

everyone trusts a Maggie. And it's such a happy name, imho

(my brother swore that every time he saw dd, he'd think of Thatcher- he doesn't, though.

Tho we do like to sing Maggie Maggie Maggie- Out Out Out when the circumstances demand)

my granny's name too

have absolutely no regrets about calling dd Maggie- still love it- and she completely inhabits her name iykwim. Couldn't imagine her being called anything else

...I also loved Maggie in Love and Rockets comics

Annie definitely ! Really don't like the name Maggie sorry

SpringHeeledJack · 02/06/2010 21:51

...tsc- can't you just sulk for the next 6 weeks till he caves in?

SpringHeeledJack · 02/06/2010 21:54

(then, o course, it'll be a boy anyway)
