What do you think of the name Silas?

Considering it to fit in with our rough criteria of biblical, quite unusual, not too wierd, easy to say.

Literary connections are obviously Silas Marner (lovely chap) and the mad monk in Da Vinci Code (not such a nice chap) but I think its a good name and I dont think the Da Vinci code link spoils the name.

Let me know what you think.

I don't like it.

I love the sound of this name! Don't let this put you off but, (and I don't know why) but it makes me think of a westcountry burly farmer! Sorry! I must be a book I read once maybe a George Elliot hero or something.

It is nice though and strong sounding, if you like slightly unusual biblical names have you considered also, Kenan, Titus and Caleb they were on my list before knowing I was having a girl.

Dislike it. And the Da Vinci Code relation just makes me dislike it more - sorry.

I like it. It was very high on my list for both DS's. Unfortunately DP did not agree and said it sounded too much like silage. But he is a funny chap so dont let that put you off!!!
