I was arsing about conducting some baby name research on this baby name generator and it came up with Mia Atara for a girl.

Is it my hormones or is that actually not half bad?!

Mind you, it came up with Kim Ollie Blake for a boy. I'm not tempted by that.

Mia is lovely. Not heard of Atara. Sounds a bit Star Trek to me.

5DollarShake · 01/06/2010 09:32

Atara looks like a Maori or Polynesian name, not that I've ever actually seen or heard of it - just going by the spelling.

I probably wouldn't go for the two of them together, but I've heard worse!

Psammead · 01/06/2010 09:45

I think it's quite cool! I like the sound of it

Psammead · 01/06/2010 09:46

It came up with Angel Honey for me... oh my.

skihorse · 01/06/2010 10:08

Mia Atara - is she next-gen Lara Croft?

pixiestix · 01/06/2010 10:38

Ooh Angel Honey is niiiiiice! I can see her on the cover of OK magazine already!

I like Mia and Atara (also like Atarah spelling), but you do have the a of Mia running into the A of Atara. Would you consider Atara Mia?

southeastastra · 01/06/2010 11:12

sounds like atora suet

IngridFletcher · 01/06/2010 11:15

It came up with Faye Chris Louise for my fictional DD2.

Thats dull with a little bit of odd chucked in.

GooseyLoosey · 01/06/2010 11:19

Sara Lizzie and Louis Kent were what it offered me. Hmmm.

sunchild77 · 01/06/2010 16:42

Atara is my friends cats name

alexisfaith · 03/06/2010 09:59

Noah Randolph and Bree Deborah for me. Given our surname is pretty much 'Branford-Dalton', I'm not sure about the female choice!

Mia Atara feels like a tongue-twister. Atara Mia sounds rather Italian.

Floopy21 · 03/06/2010 14:03

Sounds like an American frat house.

thumbwitch · 03/06/2010 14:06

Said "suet" to me as well - clearly only SEA and I do any baking that involves suet!
Also - Atari games station - too early for many of you, I'll wager, but for this old fogey it's not a good name.

Mia is just meh. Too many of them. Pia, otoh - fewer of those around, I think. Nia too - had one of those at school, never heard of another (she was Welsh though - maybe there are lots of Nias in Wales)

MrsBadger · 03/06/2010 14:14

I was at school with an Atarah - is an OT Hebrew name.

[shock ] the generator picked the first name we'd have used if ds was a girl

thumbwitch · 03/06/2010 14:20

I can safely say that random baby name generator is shite. It just came up with "Kyle Stacey" for a boy's name to go with my surname!!

thumbwitch · 03/06/2010 14:22

Oh dear Lord - it's just come up with "Addison Madison" - someone is absolutely taking the piss with this!

MagalyZz · 03/06/2010 14:44

That made me think "computer game".

But then I love the name Zelda and apparently that is unusable because it really is a computer game, so what do I know?

pixiestix · 03/06/2010 15:32

Ha! Addison Madison is brilliant!

Mia is pretty, if incredibly popular.

Atara is quite hard sounding, imo.
