What do you think of the name Finlo? It's not made up, it's an old Manx name!

I don't like any of the 'Fin' names, so it doesn't do much for me I am afraid!

capstone · 31/05/2010 14:07

I don't like the "Finn" names either, sorry.

Thinking of names ending in o, I quite like Milo, Arlo, Theo and Nico.

EricNorthmansmistress · 31/05/2010 14:10

I like Finlay, Fintan, Finn. Finto....are you Manx? Do you live there? Because if not....I don't like it.

Pancakeflipper · 31/05/2010 14:16

Finlo, lino, lilo...

Nah. If it's a family name then perhaps ( though I think I'd hide it as a second name).

pickler · 31/05/2010 14:19

Hmm no I'm not Manx. I like it because it combines two of my favourite names - Finn & Milo. Can't have Milo now as a friend has used it.

Maybe I'll stick with Finn or find a different Fin name. I love Finn names!

It'll be good if he ends up a premiership footballer

"Fiiiiiin-lo, Fiiiiiin-lo"

MamaLazarou · 31/05/2010 15:56

There are worse names. Too many Fins around at the mo, though, IMO.

sophiesmummie · 31/05/2010 17:50

Finlo sounds quite nice, but there are way too many Finns around...

pickler · 31/05/2010 17:57

I take it (from someone who dislikes overused names) your daughter's name is not Sophie? Because Sophie is very overused!

It's not bad -- I like the Manx connection.

SoupDragon · 31/05/2010 19:15

Or a rugby player - finlo, sweet chariot....

sophiesmummie · 31/05/2010 20:41

pickler, no my dd is not Sophie .

sophiesmummie · 31/05/2010 20:42

but her middle name is another version of it.

pickler · 31/05/2010 20:44

Oh OK, I'll let you off then

Finlo makes me think of J-Lo, which says more about me than you, probably. For some reason it also makes me think of those celeb pairings like Brangelina and Bennifer.
God I need to get some better reading material...

sophiesmummie · 31/05/2010 20:51

And I was only giving my honest opinion. Of course, I'd never say this to the face of a mum of a Finn, but to parents considering the name, I'm hoping to be of help by saying that I find certain names a little dull as they are so widespread. It is like the 30/40 year old Steve/Mikes - there are just SO many of them .

pickler · 31/05/2010 20:52

Aah yes, but Finn is beautiful. Steve is not.

Finlo may not be "made up" - but it does sound like a brand of Danish biscuit.

MissTFied · 02/06/2010 01:08

How about Finnan?

meadowlarks · 04/06/2010 17:05

Jeremy Clarkson's son is called Finlo. I'm not decided on it. I think it's a name you could quickly grow out of.

allbie · 04/06/2010 17:09

I think all Fin names are ace! Finlo is just great. And I don't know many Fins...except my son whose name is slightly longer than just Fin.

MagalyZz · 04/06/2010 18:36

I don't like it. It sounds like you're trying to combine two trends.

There are a lot of Finns out there now I think. WHat do you think of Fionn!? (Fyun)

janeite · 04/06/2010 18:45

I don't like it at all, sorry.

Shaz10 · 04/06/2010 18:46

How about Ffinlo?
