Middle name to follow Thora?

I was on here a little while ago asking people's opinions on the name Thora. My OH hated the name (worried about association with Thora Hird and rhyming slang!) but when our daughter was born earlier this month - and after a couple of days of her being nameless - he changed his mind. Now we're really stuck for a middle name!

Any ideas?

If you want to avoid the ubiquitous Mae/Rose/Grace type names, how about:

Marguerite
Penelope
Miriam
Gwendolyn
Josephine

i would go Elizabeth....timeless.

Or Thora Amelia.....that sounds really pretty said outloud {to me anyhoo!}

Thank you for all the suggestions. Still can't decide!

Should add that we already have an Amelia Eve.

Is there a family name that you could use, to honour a relative?

Thora Ashni

Thora means Thunder.

Ashni means lightening in Sanskrit!

Certainly different!

bumpsnowjustplump · 30/05/2010 23:16

Thanks again for the help. Mother's names are Marilyn and Jill and Grandmother's are Gladys, Marion, Virginia and Margaret - we don't really like any of them! We considered a couple of the suggestions but in the end OH has come up with a couple of ideas.

He is happy with either Elise (he's a fan of PJ Harvey, we don't mind that the song and poem it's based on are a bit depressing) or Isabella. I prefer the sound of Isabella but he prefers Elise. It's amazing we ever manage to agree on anything!

So...

Thora Elise or Thora Isabella

Which does everyone prefer?

Down to those two options, I prefer Thora Elise. Congratulations by the way!

Thora Mae. Might be obvious but goes well with Amelia Eve
