English/Romance language boys names?

Dh is Romanian, though he grew up in Italy. I'm half Italian, half English, and grew up in Canada. We're looking for a boys name that works in English and romance languages (mainly Romanian and Italian). Surname is four syllables, ending in -escu.

Our current list:
Valentin (though not thrilled about the 'Val' potential)
Anton/Antonio
Lorenzo (family name)
Teodor (to be called Teo)
Rafael
Nico
Dh also likes Andrei, Matei, and Mihai.

Really struggling with boys names, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I like all your names. I know a lovely Mihai. I've gone heavy on the Italian names because thats what I'm looking for.

Anton / Antonio and Nico sound good to me.

I'd be a bit wary of Valentin simply because of the "Valentine" association which means it might be considered a bit "girly"

My DS has the middle name Antonio...named after his grandfather. We always get complimented on it which is nice as I only went along with it as DH wanted it.

Oh forgot to say...we get asked all the time though if we are Italian?!? DH's father was from the Seychelles so no Italian connection.

One of the families in our block are Romanian-French, with an -escu surname. Their sons are Alexandre and Valentin. Father is Nicolas.
