Miriam or Annabel?

Which one do you prefer and how popular are they just now?

When I hear the name Miriam, (although it has a pretty sound to it) I get the image of a middle-aged woman with a very tight curly perm. Mind you, thats probably just me .... What about Mariam ?

Whereas for Annabel I get the picture of a pretty young girl. You also have the choice of Anna, Annie, or Bel(le) for diminutives, if needed. I love 'Anna... names.
