Lally is dreadful. Just makes me think 'Doolally'

I'd go for Rosie.

belgo · 23/05/2010 15:33

Eulalie (too much like orally) and lally are awful

hamstercheeks · 23/05/2010 15:37

Lally is awful as is Eulalie.

MrsMargate · 23/05/2010 15:42

You can have the first two but I expressly forbid Eulalie/Lally because it's awful.

pixiestix · 23/05/2010 15:52

Oh god, a lally is a slang word for a testicle in our house. Please not that!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 23/05/2010 15:57

Not Lally. Just weird.

Other names are nice though, esp Rosalind.

EmilyStrange · 23/05/2010 15:57

I think it is cultural as I know the name Lally and love it. But it is not well known in Britain. I also love Rosalind.

harley85 · 23/05/2010 18:20

Rosie is lovely

LynetteScavo · 23/05/2010 18:26

Rosie. But I wouldn't bother with Rosalind.

mummyloveslucy · 23/05/2010 18:43

Lucy ! definately

jaffacake2 · 23/05/2010 18:59

How about Rosemary? My daughter liked to be called Rosie when she was little and now a teen likes Rose.
She thinks when she is a wealthy professional(?!) then she will be called Rosemary.
So lots of options to a pretty name!

eatyourveg · 23/05/2010 19:10

We too have a Rosie although as a teen she moved to her registered name of Rosa.

Rosalind is nice though I prefer Rosamund. I like Lucy too but its very popular these days

janeite · 23/05/2010 19:13

Lally and Eulalie are just terrible imho, sorry. Rosalind is the nicest.

muminthemiddle · 23/05/2010 23:13

Lucy.

asdx2 · 24/05/2010 19:05

Love Rosie and Lucy as I have one of each

plonker · 24/05/2010 23:09

Lucy, then Rosie.

Not sure how Lally makes it in there with the other two names

Cadelaide · 24/05/2010 23:12

lally, although a pretty sound, instantly made me think "slang word for genitals".

Cadelaide · 24/05/2010 23:12

rosalind lovely, lucy fine

halfawake · 25/05/2010 00:29

lucy

swanandduck · 25/05/2010 12:49

Rosalind is beautiful and Lucy is nice.Eulalie and Lally are just awful.

mathanxiety · 25/05/2010 16:08

I like Eulalia -- the middle A is a long sound, and use Laila as a nn.

Hard to choose between Rosalind and Lucy -- one sounds a lot more formal than the other. I think I'd plump for Lucy.

Tidey · 25/05/2010 16:10

Lucy or Rosie.

pedrothellama · 25/05/2010 16:14

Lallie's is Scouse slang for legs!
