Daniel?

My sister in law has chosen the name Daniel Jacob for her new baby. Daniel is the only first name that her and my brother can agree on.
They wanted a traditional name.
She would like honest feedback about the name and whether it is particularly popular.

I have a Daniel! Love it. He's the only one in his class...it's popular but not ridiculously so.

I love it and it would be on my list were it not DP's brother's name.

Makes me think of wee Daniel O'Donnell the singer.

A classic name that has not been done to death like some have.

I personally don't like it. Don't know why, just find it lacklustre/boring. Also not keen on Dan.

Oh, adn yes it is popular, but not overly so. There is only one Daniel at ds's nursery of 40.

I have a Daniel and I love it. He also gets called Danny and Dan which I love too.

Thanks folks. Spoke to my sister in law last night. She is thrilled about the positive feedback.
I've told her that the name choice should be thiers but she seems obsessed with how well the name is received. I think you have given her the confidence to go for it

I also love the name.
It was a name we chose before I got pregnant and even while talking about baby names before trying.

But, as we had decided on the name that much that when I got pregnant, the excitment wore off.
Still like it though.
