Lucinda?

We're not posh but this is growing on me. Think it could be shortened to Lucy, Lulu, Lucia, Lula, Cindy...

Is it 'trying too hard' and what impression does it give!? We have a short surname so Lucy isn't quite 'enough'. My little girl seems quite a feisty character.

Like it, not heard it for a while, so won't be over used

BoldChislersMummy · 18/05/2010 18:16

yeah I really like it. I think it would have been considered too poncy about five years ago, but now it is not going to stand out amongst all the Imogens and Louisas etc because they are all in the same style imo. I like Louisa and Imogen btw.

GladioliBuckets · 18/05/2010 18:18

S'all right. In fact have just remembered it was my favourite name when I was 7, I thought it was wonderfully princessy. Cindy is a v cute nn, never thought of that.

mathanxiety · 18/05/2010 18:18

I think it's lovely, very elegant, and not a bit tth.

zookeeper · 18/05/2010 18:23

a bit horsy?!

LetThereBeRock · 18/05/2010 18:24

I don't like it. It doesn't make me think feisty. It's a rather bland name imho.

swanandduck · 19/05/2010 10:26

What zookeeper said.

Hedwig3 · 19/05/2010 10:49

I think horsy too I'm afraid, shame really.

OrganicHairbrush · 19/05/2010 20:11

Me too. But Lucy is lovely. Will never date...

suspiria · 19/05/2010 20:23

It was my grandmother's name.I always wanted it as a middle name instead of my mother's dreadfully dull name.Ah well.
I think it's lovely ,very pretty.

sapell3 · 20/05/2010 00:47

Not keen on Lucinda. How about Luciana, Lucille, Lucia or Lucetta?

sapell3 · 20/05/2010 00:48

Or Louisa?

Margaret3 · 20/05/2010 09:27

Yes, Lucy is very nice name.

ZZZenAgain · 20/05/2010 09:29

Knew a girl at school called Lucinda and never really thought anything about it. Not sure if I like it all that much (didn't like her that much) but I don't think it is necessarily trying too hard

BallpointPen · 20/05/2010 09:30

Don't like it, think it's poncey. Lucy is much much nicer, so is Louisa.

pagwatch · 20/05/2010 09:33

I love it. Beautiful name. Better than Lucy which is very very dull.

My friend is called this - smart, funny, beautiful. It suits her well.

It is a classic, classy name.

MumChlo · 20/05/2010 09:58

Maybe Melinda?

SeasideLil · 20/05/2010 16:54

Lucia is my favourite; classy, not horsey.
