I think it's lovely.

nobiggy · 17/05/2010 17:15

I should hope so, it's my daughter's name.

Francagoestohollywood · 17/05/2010 17:21

EdgarAllenPoll · 17/05/2010 17:23

Roxylox · 17/05/2010 19:52

erm...sorry ... is the name of my coil... Otherwise, lovely, oh apart from that thing they say in American cop shows about the Miranda Warning...not sure the spellings are all the same, but the "soundings" are

warthog · 17/05/2010 19:53

roxylox, isn't that the mirena coil?

Roxylox · 17/05/2010 19:58

It is, but mirena, miranda - the receptionist at my doctor's surgery got really rather uppity about my mirena coil being a miranda coil when trying to replace it...

I'm hoping the OP is not surrounded by such people!

Tis lovely name, but remember being told when I named my son "Jack" that it wasn't that popular...but we all know it was

orti · 17/05/2010 21:33

Like it and considered this myself but not sure about nicknames - Randy!

janeite · 17/05/2010 21:40

Love it. It is one of the few names dp and I both liked for dd1 (nn would have been Mimi) but it didn't go with his surname.

loobylu3 · 17/05/2010 21:54

It's a lovely name!

Eglu · 17/05/2010 21:58

God no! I know a really stupidly dense woman called that. Ruined it for me I'm afraid.

GarmerFiles · 17/05/2010 22:13

I love it, I think it's really elegant.

A friend of ours has a DD called Miranda, I think it's great.

Hedwig3 · 18/05/2010 09:41

Gorgeous name for any age.

tummytickler · 18/05/2010 10:00

Every Miranda I have met has been mad as a hatter.
However it is a lovely name, but I couldn't use it due to ones I have met (and I am talking 5 or 6 mad hatters, not 1 or 2!).

Go for it, it is lovely, and I am sure they are not all horrid !

tummytickler · 18/05/2010 10:02

I should say the Mad Mirandas are all adults, haven't met a Miranda under 30 for ages, except one new born at work who obviously was not mad!

Violet5 · 18/05/2010 10:05

Love it, my husband won't let me call this baby it though if its a girl and

AngryPixie · 18/05/2010 10:09

Gorgeous, it was our name for dc2, but it didn't suit hime

Pasiphae · 18/05/2010 11:39

Fab name. Old fashioned classic.
I met a French Mirande, which I really liked too.

piprabbit · 18/05/2010 11:45

I like it - reminds me of Miranda Hart (who I may have a slight crush on).

weegiemum · 18/05/2010 11:48

I like!

The only Miranda I know is 50+ but lovely and I think its a great name!

swanandduck · 18/05/2010 12:07

Beautiful name. Feminine in a kind of drifty, ethereal way as opposed to girly and frilly.
