Patrick is a great name on it's own. No need for a nickname I reckon.

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 19:09

Thanks everyone, really excited now.

I was on earlier, jamie - you missed me!

pitterpatterfeet · 14/05/2010 19:12

Patrick without a shadow of a doubt - Noah unbelievably popular just now and will sound dated next year. Patrick more classic.

seashore · 14/05/2010 19:12

Noah, but then I'm in Ireland and there is loads of Patricks.

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 19:16

Scrap Patrick Noah, would be Patrick David (after my gdad)

Oh, that's even better.

MamaLazarou · 14/05/2010 19:58

Patrick Patrick Patrick Patrick Patrick

Biblical names can be lovely... but Noah is just way too Biblical. And very 'now', so will date.

Patrick is an excellent name which will never date.

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 20:02

Thanks mathanxiety and MamaLazarou.
Love love love Patrick, but now Elsa not sitting right with me, why can't I find a girls name, want another boy now lol

Patrick

Noah is too popular. Patrick is under used but great.

IsThatTheTime · 14/05/2010 20:05

Patrick for definite, was on my list.
I have an Elsa already.
Are you me?!

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 20:07

I really like both, and have both on the list for the DS that I will probably never have

MamaLazarou · 14/05/2010 20:07

Boy's names are so much easier, aren't they?

For a girl, how about Dorothy, Leonora or Faith?

Needanewname · 14/05/2010 20:08

Noah all the way - fab name but then Patrick makes me think of an old man!

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 20:10

Hubby vetoed them all MamaLazarou. I quite liked Dorothy aswell.

You see, I think you know you have the right name, because it excites you to have that gender so you can use the name. Patrick does this but the girls name doesn't at the moment.

Yes MamaLazarou, girls seem harder even though I have 2 boys.

bunnymother · 14/05/2010 20:14

I quite like both of them, although leaning towards Patrick (Patty Rafter... mmmm...)

ZZZenAgain · 14/05/2010 20:16

mindyou I used to drool over a gorgeous Patrick when I was a teenager but he was 20 and out of my reach....

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 20:22

seeker · 14/05/2010 21:01

My Patrick is 9 and has never met a Patrick he's not related to. It's a wonderful name. I chose it from family obligation, but have loved it from day one.

alfiemama · 14/05/2010 21:11

thanks Seeker, its definitely under used. Now just to find a girls name.

Nooooo, it's mine, and I chose it cos no one else has one (and I work in a school).
Don't you DARE!

(But you can have Lilja for a girl, as I can't use it now)
