yes. Not Eric though.

pearlym · 12/05/2010 18:41

no, too harsh

tummytickler · 12/05/2010 18:42

No. But I really like Eric!

Magaly · 12/05/2010 18:44

Not sure. I don't dislike it. I know a child called Erica. I would have thought of it as dated, but I guess that's no bad thing when you're the only one in the whole school. Maybe even surrounding schools. (if you care about that kind of thing).

mathanxiety · 12/05/2010 19:51

I know one Erica too. I've always thought it was a strange name unless there was an Eric in the family who she was named after. It's not as bad as Nigella though.

Lumpity · 12/05/2010 20:07

I love it. I love the 'ca sound at the end!

Zoidberg · 12/05/2010 20:07

Yes.

flopsy1974 · 12/05/2010 20:08

Yes. Not heard it for a while though.

MagdaMagyarMadam · 12/05/2010 20:11

prefer Heather

minipie · 12/05/2010 20:22

Nope sorry

Sounds a bit too "we wanted a boy" for me...

Ishoglomo · 12/05/2010 21:35

I really like it

Also like Eric.

fireandlife · 12/05/2010 21:49

It makes me think of 'Erica the Sneak' from Theo O Sullivan Twins by Enid Blyton.

Lionstar · 12/05/2010 21:52

Erika and Erik are on my secret fantasy list

muminthemiddle · 12/05/2010 22:12

No I don't like it. Don't like any of those names that sound like a girl has been named after her father iyswim such as Nigella, Roberta, Thomasina etc.

It is my MIL's name, but spelled Erika.

Old fashioned name in Germany, akin to Mabel or Daphne.

It is quite pretty but reminds me of MIL.

diddl · 13/05/2010 09:23

No, don´t like it.

neolara · 13/05/2010 09:28

I'm afraid every time I catch sight of this thread in active convos instead of reading Erica I read Erotica!

SirBoobAlot · 13/05/2010 10:39

You have to spell it Erika though - or its boring Tis my name...

swanandduck · 13/05/2010 13:05

I like it.

IngridFletcher · 13/05/2010 13:38

It is one of my DD's middle names - she is named after an Eric.

I like it.

serin · 13/05/2010 21:02

Love it.
My sister chose it for her two DC's but they were both boys and she didn't like Eric at all.
