and we have decided on Isla May. What do you think?
Isla as we both really like it and May as its MIL middle name and fingers crossed LO is born in May too!

LOVE IT! Do it! Is a very pretty name! We have also chose May as a middle name ...it's such a sweet name. It could be a lovely first name too- but not many things follow it easily!

How do you pronounce Isla

Ee-sla (like Isla Bonita)

or

Aay-la (like Island)

It sounds Spanish to me...?

Rockbird · 12/05/2010 10:08

Lovely

Thissideofchannel · 12/05/2010 10:24

Looks nice, but I'm also wondering how to pronounce Isla....

Rockbird · 12/05/2010 10:26

Isla is Eye-La, isn't it? At least it is any time I've heard it.

BallpointPen · 12/05/2010 10:26

I would pronounce it eye-la.

Pretty, nice, good choice.

treyiw3 · 12/05/2010 10:37

EYE-la

At least, that's how Isla St Clair was always introduced on the Generation Game!

Thissideofchannel · 12/05/2010 10:46

Isla is Spanish for island (La Isla Bonita).

tummytickler · 12/05/2010 11:29

Boring - sorry!

April80 · 12/05/2010 20:51

Thanks for all the posts, glad most people like it.
Pronounced Eye-la.

Love it

I just have seen it about so much lately, every other baby seems to be called Isla at the moment (or Iona, Orla).
I think i barely notice it now, it's lost its WOW factor for me - but then I don't have to call my baby it - so ignore my opinion .
My best friend at primary school was names Isla - and she was lovely!

April80 · 15/05/2010 11:59

Just to let you all know that Isla May was born yesterday 2 weeks and 2 days early. 6lbs 6oz and gorgeous!
