WHat do you think? Nice or nasty?

"Flaming Norah...."??

"Nora Batty"??

I like Norah for a contemporary feel.

Lubyloo · 11/05/2010 12:09

I like Norah. Have a good friend called Norah.

swanandduck · 11/05/2010 12:43

I really don't like the name. I think it's a bit frumpy. Sorry!

diddl · 11/05/2010 12:48

Very old lady.

NoahAndTheWhale · 11/05/2010 12:53

I'm afraid I can only think of Nora Batty's stockings.

VengefulKitty · 11/05/2010 12:54

For an inexplicable reason I like Norah and see it as a younger name, but Nora is old lady to me.

boodleboot · 11/05/2010 13:19

i love Honora.....gorgeous......Norah makes me think of Norah JOnes who is beautiful!

Rockbird · 11/05/2010 13:51

Hmm, tough one. Probably Norah. It's a lovely name either way.

mathanxiety · 11/05/2010 15:53

I like both -- Nora would edge out Norah for me. I know two Noras and one Honora under 12.

I love Honora and Eleanora too.

Hedwig3 · 12/05/2010 10:59

I LOVE both, but think Nora looks prettier and has a sassy feel.

Makes me think of Nora Ephron the film director.

theagedparent · 12/05/2010 11:01

I like Nora also Dora or Cora!

chimchar · 12/05/2010 11:03

i prefer norah....it seems younger and more of a name in its own right than nora, which is like a shortened form of something iykwim...

pretty name!

treyiw3 · 12/05/2010 12:04

Norah, as in Norah Jones the jazz singer

jellybeans · 12/05/2010 13:47

I like Norah, seems more modern.

imahappycamper · 12/05/2010 14:40

I was thinking of adding Norah to the "names you hate" thread.

PuppyMonkey · 12/05/2010 14:44

No

skidoodly · 12/05/2010 14:47

nora nicer, no pointless h

muminthemiddle · 12/05/2010 22:19

Awful.

waitingimpatiently · 13/05/2010 15:18

Nitty nora the bug explorer?

AndieWalsh · 13/05/2010 15:20

Not a fan. If you must, Nora. Norah looks made up.

slowshow · 13/05/2010 20:14

As far as I know, Norah is completely legit (biblical?). Nora makes me think of Nora Batty, whereas Norah makes me think of the beautiful Norah Jones. Make of that what you will

halfawake · 15/05/2010 23:28

Not sure whether I prefer Nora or Norah - both lovely!

Nora - I think of Ibsen's Nora in Dollshouse
Norah - I think of Norah Jones or the film Nick and Norah

I suppose most people would automatically write it with the H so maybe I would go for that.

Flaming Norah or Batty wouldn't really come to mind!

Surprised at the negative responses tbh, I like it a lot!

treas · 15/05/2010 23:33

How about Honor - if she looked as good as Honor Blackman, who's now 84, she'll be one lucky girl!
