I quite like the name Callie, but only as a nick name. I really don't like Calista, what other names could it be short for???

Thanks

We had a cat called Calphurnia, who we called callie.

PrettyCandles · 08/05/2010 12:20

Caroline, or one if its spelling variants.

Hermya321 · 08/05/2010 12:22

I quite like Calphurnia, Caroline reminds me of a not so nice kid at school.

SuperCalifragilisticexpealidocious?

Linnet · 09/05/2010 22:34

I love the name Calliope, it's pronounced
Ca-lie-o-pay, I wanted to name dd1 this and would have shortened it to Callie, but was over ruled. I thought about it again for dd2 but we decided on a different Greek name which can also be shortened to Callie but we call her by her full name, so far we haven't shortened it.

Hermya321 · 10/05/2010 11:27

Linnet Can I ask which name you used instead?

My mum is called Kathleen and her name is shorted to Kahlie (which is pronounced cally)...not sure if that is the Irish shortening for it as she is Irish - will asked her

Jamieandhismagictorch · 10/05/2010 16:57

.

Linnet · 10/05/2010 23:33

Hermya we called her Calista it's a lovely name and she really suits it, I always thought we'd shorten it to Callie but so far we haven't, her friends probably will when she's older though.

swanandduck · 12/05/2010 13:27

Could be short for Camilla.

legallyblond · 12/05/2010 14:19
