Going round in circles here. Opinion on these names please and suggestions for any other names which are simple (or can be shortened to something simple), pretty and chic. If you're an Anna, do you wish you were an 'Annabel'!?

I'm Cara-Lee but prefer Cara on it's own, but often get called Carla. My daughter is Eva, but tend to get a lot of people calling her Evie.

Anna is pretty.

Not keen on Elsa

BallpointPen · 07/05/2010 21:01

Anna is OK, bit dull, prefer Hannah.

Not keen on Elsa unless you're Finish (think that's where Elsa is from)

MoppingMummy · 07/05/2010 21:07

I like Anna very much - very pretty name. My own daughter is called Nyah (meaning purpose). Names I love at the moment are: Niamh, Sasha and Naomi!

Not keen on Anna, really dislike Annabel. Anne is my favourite 'Ann' name.

Elsa on the other hand, is fab, cool, sophisticated and cute!

oceryo · 07/05/2010 23:09

I like Anna.

Elsa is OK but I prefer other similar names like Alyssa, Alice, Elsie, Elspeth, Ailsa.

Like Anna, hate Annabel. Like Clara and Clare. Like Katherine (Kate). And Harriet (Hattie). And Caroline (Caro).

I'm very old. To me, Elsa is yellow and roars.

asktheaudience · 08/05/2010 10:47

Elsa is lovely, and quite unusual. Would you pronounce it Ell-Sa or Ell-Za?

Anna is much prettier than Annabel.

juneybean · 08/05/2010 11:02

My cat is called Elsa, but I think it could be very sweet on a baby.

I like Anna by itself.

Lovethesea · 08/05/2010 11:17

Prefer Anna to Annabel. Different image in my head from both of those.

freebirdx · 08/05/2010 11:21

Anna is lovely.

Not keen on Elsa.

oceryo · 08/05/2010 11:26

Yes I thought of the lioness too bellissima!

pitterpatterfeet · 08/05/2010 17:18

Another vote for Anna here!

KAEKAE · 08/05/2010 23:55

I like Annabel or Annabella, Anna is slightly boring, I even prefer Annie over it. I quite like Elsa, nice altervative sounding name to Elsie which is fast becoming popular again.

cece · 08/05/2010 23:57

Anna was on our list for DC3 so I think it is beautiful. Classic and timeless.

Also on our list

Anabel
Verity
Helen
Thea
Alathea
Helena
Ellen
Otillie (sp!)
Una

karyncake · 09/05/2010 16:22

My dd2 is called ellsa

diddl · 09/05/2010 16:50

I love Elsa and Elise.

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/05/2010 16:52

I love the name Anya. Would you consider that?

careylouwho · 09/05/2010 17:06

I love Annabel and Elsa - both names I'm considering if I ever get knocked up! I like Anna but also think it is a bit on the plain side. Also like Elsie and Anabella. Hope you find a name you love

halfawake · 09/05/2010 20:36

Elsa is lovely, a favourite of mine. You could use it as a nickname for Eleanor if you want something longer.

Anna is also great, very classic. I prefer just Anna on its own over Annabel (which is okay but a bit froofy and little-girly). How about Annelise nicknamed Anna if you wanted a longer name?
