Jane/Jayne?

Both me and my brothers middle names are after my grandad, his is John, mine is Jayne.

Psammead · 03/05/2010 20:20

Joan?

oceryo · 03/05/2010 20:20

Feminine forms of John include Jane, Jean, Jane, Joanna and Jeanette.

Psammead · 03/05/2010 20:20

Oh, you said Joan...

I would agree.

oceryo · 03/05/2010 20:21

Should have said Joan not Jane twice!

telsa · 03/05/2010 20:23

Could have Johanna too.

choosyfloosy · 03/05/2010 20:23

Joan, Joanne, Johanne, Joanna, Johanna, Sian.

FunkeyMonkeyMoo · 03/05/2010 20:33

Thanks for the replies ...

Well my Great Aunt is called Jean so that makes sense..

I have come across Johnina in Scotland, but I can't see it catching on...

dizzydixies · 03/05/2010 20:39

its Jane - I have it as part of my name and my DD1 has it too after my gran and grandad

macmam · 04/05/2010 15:45

Shona, Seona, Seonag, Sìne,

woosam · 04/05/2010 20:59

Oh I really like Jean with Jeanie for a little girl. Lovely!

LadyGardenia · 04/05/2010 21:14

John in Irish is Sean so that would give you a feminine Seana, which you might anglicise to Shauna or Sheona I think is the Scots version?

Some fadas missing there due to incompetence.

The Welsh equivalent of Jane is Sian, if that's any help.
