Sebastian
Inigo
Levi

Octavia
Ione

I really like this ones. What about Ianthe as well?

would be very careful with Juno, is quite it-y atm.

Ari -- very nice
Sebastian -- too fancy and don't like Seb
Inigo -- like
Crispin -- only in certain circles
Levi -- nice
Peregrine -- nicer than Crispin, old fashioned in a very nice way
Dexter -- Dexy's Midnight Runners
Julius -- love

Lois -- dislike, too plain
Ivy -- like
Tabitha -- love
Juno -- love
Octavia -- a bit too much
Ione -- like
Claudia -- sounds harsh to me
Juniper -- dislike
Zara -- love
Isis -- like a lot
Millicent -- like

Ari - not for me
Sebastian - OK but I wouldn't use it but can see why others might
Inigo - awful
Crispin - NO!
Levi - not for me, are you Jewish?
Peregrine - could live with Perry
Dexter (the next big thing?)- no
Julius - prefer Julian

Lois - love
Ivy - no
Tabitha - makes me think of the witch
Juno - no
Octavia - only if eighth child but like
Ione - ???
Claudia - depends how you say it
Juniper - not at all
Zara - prefer Sara
Isis - no
Millicent - not sure

kailie · 02/05/2010 11:20

Crispin & Juniper & Juno I don't really like - sorry...

Inigo ? there are probably a lot nicer names out there... but just my personal preference...

The others are all quite nice. Sebastian, Tabitha, Lois & Millie are all good.

Peregrine would take a bit of getting used to...but quite like Perry as a NN, so could be a name that "grows" on you

That dumb movie just about ruined Juno for me for a while and it was a top contender for years before it came out. I've decided it would make an awesome no-fuss middle name if it didn't go in first spot.

Someone asked if I live in NW London. No - Sydney Australia actually

Peregrine - dear god no
Dexter (the next big thing?) - NO
Julius - a bit tth for me. How about Julian?

Lois - love it
Ivy - ok
Tabitha - cat
Juno - no
Octavia - hmm possible grower
Ione - no

Juniper - no

persephoneplum · 02/05/2010 12:30

Ari is not pronounced like the 'arry' in Harry.

It's pronounced ah-ri.

Sorry persephone I've just read that you live in Sydney, so I can see how the pronounciation would work there. Unfortunately here in Ziderr Coun'rree the poor boy would be Arreee

Adair · 02/05/2010 12:35

Ari - as Ari or Arry, I like
Sebastian - yes ('Bastien, SAY MY NAME!')
Inigo - maybe
Crispin - no
Levi - LOVE
Peregrine - NO WAY
Dexter (the next big thing?) - I like, was dd's boys name...
Julius- no

Lois - no
Ivy - maybe
Tabitha - maybe
Juno - yes
Octavia - no
Ione - yes
Claudia - yes
Juniper - yes, lovely
Zara - nice
Isis - very nice
Millicent - no

Am hippy, trying-to-be-boho, North/East London mum if that gives you a context

meadowlarks · 02/05/2010 15:51

Juniper is my favourite girl's name ever and will be the name of my hypothetical DD. It's awesome.
