Are Lucy and Lara too close for sisters? I think they might be... but could I get away with it?

Not too close at all -- and gorgeous names both. I would go for it.

I think they're too close; same letter and two syllable. I think you could get away with a Lucinda and a Lara, or a Lucy and a Larissa, if that helps.

SqueezyB · 27/04/2010 07:55

nah, I don't think so, I think they sound lovely together.

Doozie · 27/04/2010 08:04

Nice names, but a bit too sing-song for me. Others will love the combo for that very reason.

dannas · 27/04/2010 10:52

They are fine. My friend has a Lara and Lois.

whywhywhydelilah · 27/04/2010 11:17

I think they are fine they have different vowel sounds.

BessieBoots · 27/04/2010 11:22

Lovely together! Go for it!

BikeRunSki · 27/04/2010 11:24

Fine.

diddl · 27/04/2010 11:31

Fine-although I prefer Amy with Lucy for some reason.

CakeandRoses · 27/04/2010 11:42

fine

PlanetEarth · 27/04/2010 12:51

They sound nice but I bet your friends will keep calling them the wrong thing!

mathanxiety · 27/04/2010 14:44

Lucy and Lara do have very different vowel sounds, and the R and soft C are very different; despite starting with L and having 4 letters each, I think they're different. If they both ended with -IE or a Y sound, then I'd say avoid, but this combination is very nice.

recireci · 27/04/2010 16:51

Both very nice names. Will Lara be short for Larissa?

Amapoleon · 27/04/2010 16:52

Go nicely together.

Meanbeansmum · 27/04/2010 17:41

Cute together.

GladioliBuckets · 27/04/2010 17:47

Love it. (But then my DD is Lyra Lucille so I would)
