ok.. ive got 6 weeks to go and we decided when we were about 20weeks on Elizabeth Grace, im now having second thoughts because i really dont like liz or lizzy but love betty or betsy for NN but surname starts with B!

DH is so sure on Elizabeth that doesnt really listen to any other susgestions apart from Elsie Grace... is it too old fashioned or cute?

Our DD1 is Faith Annette and i think Elsie Grace goes really well with it?

What do we think ladies?
Elizabeth or Elsie?

Sidge · 23/04/2010 20:32

Elizabeth.

Not Elsie.

LillianGish · 23/04/2010 20:34

I would have Elisabeth - shortened to Elsie.

MrsMalcolmTucker · 23/04/2010 20:35

Elsie - there is a lovely little girl whose mum I've just got to know and she's lovely.

Eglu · 23/04/2010 20:37

Elizabeth shortened to Beth. The only diminuitive of Elizabeth I like

harley85 · 23/04/2010 20:37

yeah thats a good idea, s instead of z, i'll see what he thinks, thanks

Exactly what Eglu said.

I don't like Betty or Betsy at all but Beth is very nice.

harley85 · 23/04/2010 20:41

should i not let the liz or lizzy thing bother me then?

She'll spend her life saying 'No with an s not a z'.

DeFluff · 23/04/2010 20:45

Is there an Elise? Elsie is a mad great aunt of mine, sorry.

LillianGish · 23/04/2010 20:53

Elisabeth/Elizabeth is a fantastic name - gorgeous in itself and with countless diminutives. You can call her Elsie and if you always call her that chances are that's what other people will call her and how she'll introduce herself. If she really hates it then she can take her pick - Lisa, Eliza, Elise, Betty, Betsy, Beth, Libby, Lizzie etc etc. And if she wants to be serious, formal and grand then she'll always have Elizabeth to fall back on.
