Hi mn's I have an Ellis James and due ds2 in 2 months. Please help me decide on a name!!
This is my shortlist:

Remy
Reef
Rafael(nn Rafe/Raffa)

Brogan
Beau
Alessio(nn Ali)
Joshua(Josh)
Danny
Jesse
Harry

We like Alexander as a middle name but won't go with some of the above!!

I like Alexander best out of all of them (sorry!) so would go for that as a first name and choose a different middle name.

bibbitybobbityhat · 20/04/2010 17:39

Xavier, Danny or Harry in that order.

But you can't have Xavier unless you or dp is French.

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 17:44

I rather like Reef and think it goes nicely with Ellis. Reef Alexander is nice.

globaljen · 20/04/2010 17:45

Finn

Finn Alexander sounds great.

I have a son called Finlay so I am biased ;)

debaronz · 20/04/2010 17:47

Joshua, Harry (if short for Henry) and Danny (if short for Daniel).

displayuntilbestbefore · 20/04/2010 17:48

Just watch what the initials spell if you go for a middle name beginning with a vowel

notso · 20/04/2010 17:51

I really like Beau but not sure if it goes with Alexander, it sounds a bit like your saying Bwalexander IYSWIM.

I think Ellis and Brody sound good together.

padraig · 20/04/2010 18:18

Finn, Jesse, Remy and Javier/Xavier would be my favourites from there.

Finn definitely my favourite, plus works very well with Finn Alexander.

mathanxiety · 20/04/2010 19:37

Remy -- love
Reef -- reminds me too much of reefer
Rafael -- nice, goes well with Ellis, I like Rafe as a nn
Xavier -- nice
Brody -- makes me think of 'broody'
Brogan -- Brog is Irish for shoe and that's what I think of, or brogue meaning Irish accent
Beau -- nice
Alessio -- too close to Ellis; same letters/sounds rearranged
Joshua -- meh
Danny -- nice
Jesse -- too girly
Harry -- too ordinary compared to Ellis
Finn -- nice

I also like Leo and Vaughn

Xavier is the only one I would choose from your list, and certainly the one that goes best with Ellis.

You can of course use Xavier even if neither of you is French.

ongobongo · 20/04/2010 21:56

Hmmm...Finn, Joshua, Jesse, Harry or Xavier

tammy234 · 20/04/2010 22:11

I think

Ellis and Remy

and

Ellis and Beau

sound/feel the best together.

With Ellis, I'd avoid another name with 's's. Personally I love Remy and Rafe, and think both go well with Ellis.

Thanks annasmami
