What do you think of this?

I can't decide, one day I love it, the next i'm not too sure.

Your opinions?

I have to say it brings to mind flaxen haired german girls with plaits... My grandparents had two dobermen called Heidi 1 and Heidi 2 (don't ask!) They were gorgeous dogs but I am not sure about the name for a person.

RunJHC · 19/04/2010 21:07

Love it. My first boss at work was/is called Heidi and she's lovely and now a good friend so a good precedent! Also it's different but not too weird and people can spell it reasonably well...

Not for me, but that is because DH is German and it is an old fashioned name in Germany.

BrigitteBardot · 19/04/2010 21:19

I think it's pretty.

ja9 · 19/04/2010 21:20

i think it's really pretty and considered it strongly. would still be a contender if i were to have another...

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/04/2010 21:26

Very pretty - but always makes me think of someone who used to write in to Terry Wogan with the name Heidi Vodka

debaronz · 19/04/2010 21:56

Sorry but I don't like it.

whatwasthatagain · 20/04/2010 15:00

I love it. Loved the book as a child.

5DollarShake · 20/04/2010 15:18

I really like it.

I went to school with two girls called Heidi and they were both blonde stunners.

mopsyflopsy · 20/04/2010 15:29

Awful! But then I know too many 60+ year old Germans named Heidi.

padraig · 20/04/2010 15:58

It's quite a popular name for dogs.

I really dislike it tbh.

ConnorTraceptive · 20/04/2010 16:09

I like it and would have considered it is ds's were girls

DastardlyandSmugly · 20/04/2010 16:46

I think it's lovely

GladioliBuckets · 20/04/2010 16:49

Love it. Was on one of my shortlists.

ongobongo · 20/04/2010 21:53

Lovely name - really easy to say with a smile on your face!

lilmissmummy · 20/04/2010 21:54

lovely!

deleting · 20/04/2010 21:57

love it.

Magaly · 21/04/2010 09:27

I really like it. I think it's quite germanic, and I feel my soul is more latin, so not for me if that makes sense.

But a nice name for the right girl. and i don't just mean blonde.

AvadaKedavra · 21/04/2010 09:28

I'm a Heidi and I detest it. Unless your child is sure to grow up looking blonde and lean and lithe and tanned, then no.

Eglu · 21/04/2010 09:47

It's awful, sorry. My Gran had a dog called Heidi too.

AllieW · 21/04/2010 12:27

I love it - very pretty. I seem to remember that the book said it was short for Adelheid, though, which is nowhere near as nice!

foureleven · 21/04/2010 18:23

I love it. My close friend's daughter is called Heidi and she has never encountered another child with the name.. except for Kerry Katona's Heidi who was born 3 days afterwards!

Its sensible enough for when she grows up and runs a Hedge Fund but pretty enough to still feel feminine.
