A brother for Sam...

Jack or Rhys?

Rhys would be tough as most people in the US would stare in confusion and call him "Rise", but we eventually learned how to pronounce Sean so it'll all come right. I like it!

Jack is overused but I still love it-Mad Jack, Wicked Jack's Ale, Capt Jacks both Harkness and of "Pirates" fame...it's just a great all around name IMO, as is Sam, which is what I called my first DS.

So. Am not pregnant, but am hoping to be in the fall and am gathering opinions. Lord love DH, he is the slowest man on EARTH to make decisions so I need to have things narrowed down beforehand.

I think I prefer Rhys, just because it is less common.

You could call him Rhys Jack, perhaps?

Do you have a Welsh connection?

CheerfulYank · 18/04/2010 08:22

There's supposedly some Welsh floating around somewhere in my ancestral pool, but I'm mostly Finnish and DH is German. I just like Rhys.

Also it is actually fairly common here, but as Reese or Reece.

Jack, or possibly Jake.

Not keen on Rhys because when heard it sounds like Reece.

dizzydixies · 18/04/2010 15:30

Jack - I love it

WaitingForGok · 18/04/2010 15:49

Our DS1 is Sam and DS2 is Jake. I love Jack also.

JackBauer · 18/04/2010 16:02

Jack is an awesome name, but I do like Rhys, depends if you are happy to have it mispelt all the time though...

itsybitsy08 · 18/04/2010 16:02

Jake! My brother 17 now is called Jake and everyone loves it.
I also love jack but think jake is slightly more unusual

CheerfulYank · 18/04/2010 17:32

I do like Jake, but Jacob has been the most popular name in America for a long time now, so there are lots and lots of Jakes floating around already, and not so many Jacks. Thanks for the opinions!

Sam and Jack are good strong names.
