Hello ladies

I am expecting dc2 in July and having real trouble with girls names this time around. My dd (Amalie Grace) was named at 12wks and we never entertained any other names!

Our surname is Brown which has ruled out an awful lot of names that we like - colours and flowers sound more than a bit dead when followed by Brown

The boys name we have pretty much decided on is Edward (nn Ted).

This is the list so far:
Layla
Rosa
Constance/Connie
Heidi
Juliet

I can't even think about middle names until we're down to 2 first name options!

Would love to know what you think, and any other suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

I'd go for Rosa or Juliet. Think both are great. Also like Julia and Rose.

Connie is lovely but I really don't like Constance.

Layla is a nice name too- I went to school with a lovely girl called Layla.

Goingspare · 11/04/2010 18:01

Juliet

BlueBumedFly · 11/04/2010 18:01

Constance and Layla x

BrokenBananaTantrum · 11/04/2010 18:06

Layla is beautiful

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/04/2010 18:14

Thank you everyone, keep it coming! I can't see us getting down to 2 names only but it's good to know that I'm not going mad with the names we like

I think Heidi is a lovely name and Edward is a great choice.

SirBoobAlot · 11/04/2010 18:21

Constance is my favourite from your list, don't think Heidi works with your surname, though I really love it. Sorry.

janeite · 11/04/2010 18:35

Constance or Juliet - dislike Layla.

janeite · 11/04/2010 18:35

Edward = v good name.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/04/2010 18:41

I really love the name Edward, it's actually dh's family's naming tradition but I expect most people will think it's because of a certain sparkly vampire

I've been saying Heidi Brown out loud and yes, I see what you mean, it's a bit clumsy unless you're welsh (we're not). Bugger.

What about Cora?

mathanxiety · 11/04/2010 20:26

Juliet.

vickyob · 11/04/2010 23:34

Heidi my Bf called her DD2 this and I disliked it throughout her pregnancy but I really love it now. I dont know any other Heidis either.
Really dislike Layla, Rosa and Connie (sorry)

nooka · 12/04/2010 06:04

I like Constance/Connie, but I think I'd be most likely to choose Juliet. Edward is good.

keepingeverythingcrossed · 12/04/2010 12:42

Please call her Connie, i'm due 2nd july and would love Connie as a girls name but my OH can't quite get to grips with it as our childs name, he doesn't dislike it but there's something stopping him from agreeing to it (probably our long irish surname). I think it's an excellent name that's great through all stages of life.

swanandduck · 12/04/2010 14:06

Juliet.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 13/04/2010 20:07
