How about a compromise with Cecily Arabella? Then wait till she's born and decide which you want to use.

Arabella - then you can have Bella, Bel, Ella as her friends will all shorten it as she goes to school. With Cecily she might end up with Sid. I like Cecilia though.

In which case, go for the name which has the diminutives you prefer as another poster has said.

Arabella Westward sounds lovely and well balanced.

Sid's pretty cool though!

I would go Cecily (lovely name) - then work hard on elocution to avoid the potential lisp problem!

Sorry for saying this but I think Arabella sounds like a magazine name, or a clothing brand. Sorry, sorry.

Personally I can't bear names that can be shortened, so go with Cecily. My friend has a Cecily, it really suits her, so cute.
