Jemima Eleanor or Jemima Eleanora

Okay, so doesn't seem like a huge difference in middle name from the thread title !

But we have almost/practically/near enough settled on Jemima now as the first name for our little girl and for the middle name I wanted to use my nan's name (who passed away when I was a teenager).

I thought her name was Eleanor but just found out her name was actually Eleanora (of course she was always nanny to me ). See, I always thought Jemima Eleanor flowed really well - is Jemima Eleanora a bit to many 'ah' sounds at the end??

If I'm using a name in memory of someone should it be their exact name? Or would it not really matter either way?

Any thoughts appreciated

Too many ah's at the end for Eleanora.

Jemima Eleanor is better. I think the sentiment will still be the same.

I think Eleanora would be a bit much with Jemima. I would stick with the simpler 'Eleanor'.

I like both versions. Jemima is a fab name btw...

what soapboxqueen said

LOVE Jemima...

Lovely idea. I would go with Jemima Eleanor since as you say, it does flow better.

I am pregnant with DD1 and she will be named after my Mum, but with an 'a' on the end of the name.

I ummed and ahhed over it initially, but I prefer it with the a, and know that the actual name is there, and she is being named for her regardless - that's all that really matters.

Yeah I think you're all right - sentiment will still be there and we will know what it means too. Jemima Eleanor it is !
