Got it from Yaniece Thomas, Tyra Banks' stylist. Pronounced yah-NEESE.

What do you think of this for a mixed race child (black, white, bit of Chinese)?

I know it sounds a bit ghetto but oh well.

Is it a girl's name? Is the equivalent male name Yanephew? Won't it cause confusion?

thisisyesterday · 07/04/2010 20:53

i can't say it's to my taste, but if you and your partner love it then use it!

5DollarShake · 07/04/2010 20:55

PMSL & Quattro.

It is way too ghetto for my tastes, but if you love it...!

SilveryMoon · 07/04/2010 20:56

Yanephew
Yajoking?

Quattrocento · 07/04/2010 21:05

ROFL at Yajoking. Wish I'd thought of that ...

Actually the name is fine. Got carried away by two glasses of wine

LadyThompson · 07/04/2010 21:45

Mmm. I don't really like it because it sounds like a cross between Denise and Janice, neither of which I like. Agree that a child with such an exotic heritage needs a gorgeous exotic name, but this, for me, really isn't it. Of course, if you love it...ignore what everyone says.

ilovepiccolina · 07/04/2010 21:49

Agree with LT.

liliputlady · 07/04/2010 22:36

I think it sounds lovely, but am not keen on the spelling.

liliputlady · 07/04/2010 22:38

Ther's always the French "Anise".
