I've just posted about the name Jackson when really I should've posted my list so I can get your opinions on all the names we are thinking of.

Tell me what you think of these

Aaron
Harper
Bay (maybe Bailey)
Tommy
Archie
Jackson
Yannick

I know Yannick is weird but my boyfriend is half french and likes the name

Love Yannick

I quite like Archie, but actively dislike the others.

I think I like Archie the best, although it does remind me of Alfie and I think it is just as popular now too. Jackson and Harper remind me of surnames and the others on your list aren't really to my taste.

Archie and Yannick are nice.

janeite · 04/04/2010 23:20

I'm really sorry but I don't like any of them. Yannick is the best by a long way imho. I like Thomas but not Tommy.

evesnee · 04/04/2010 23:24

I do like Yannick but I can't help but think of the word PANIC!

Any french boys names you like that i could put to my boyfriend?

Jules?

I like Aaron. Thomas (Tomas) and Archibald are nice. I believe in giving a child a 'formal' version of their name on the birth cert even if you always call them Tommy and Archie. Certain professions do not tend to refer to their ranks by nicknames or shortened names, so names that look like shortened or nicknames (even if they aren't) might be a slight handicap!

My current shortlisted boys names are Arthur, Cornelius, Crispian, John, Patrick. DP doesn't like Cornelius so we'll probably end up with an Arthur.

Mallory is a nice French name though it is more commonly used for girls than boys. Yannick would take a lot of getting used to!
