If my son had been a girl we would have called him Isabelle. Beautiful name. But do you mind if she is called Izzy or Bella for short? If so, then go for Amelia as you can't really shorten that.

Either way, they are both gorgeous.

Very pretty
My friend has a 3yo called Bella and has also just given birth to another girl and called her Amelia

Amelia is less ubiquitous than Isabella, though both are pretty. Personally, I'd go with Amelia as it is more original.

What about Meli (pronounced M-e-e-l-y as in AMElia) as a nn?

Amelia is lovely.

had either DS1 or DS2 been a girl they would have been Amelia Rose..... love the name and looked after a gorgeous little norwegian girl called Amelia

Amelia

amelia can be shortened to milly. and amy.

there was a thread asking the very same question yesterday ... if that changes your mind.

Nyx · 05/04/2010 23:33

Amelia...I think Amy could be a nickname for that?
