originally it was these 4:

charlie
finlay/finn
ben
oliver/ollie

but now found another 3 that i like and so my decision is even harder!! the extra 3 are:

alfie
noah
zack

middle name for all would be ray after dp's late father, would not be hyphenated just a middle name...surname beigins with h and goes with them all. my only issue with charlie (even tho i LOVE it) is that it rhymes with my first name - is this an issue??

all thoughts and opinions welcome

Noah is a brill name

I like Oliver a lot

Ben is good but i prefer Benjamin ...

lol we narrowed ours down to 4, but just couldn't decide so i went through the baby book again and came up with a list of 21!!

it was weeks before poor ds3 got a name

bubbles12 · 03/04/2010 20:54

Actually like all the names but my personal favourites are Ben and Oliver. I guess if I had to start ruling some out I would stick with the original 4 and leave the new 3!

henry37 · 03/04/2010 20:56

i like noah and ben.

LouMacca · 03/04/2010 21:23

I know so many children called Charlie, Ben and Ollie. If you want something not so popluar then I think Noah and Finn are lovely.

If being so popular doesn't concern you Ben and Ollie are my faves.

Don't like Alfie or Zack.

liliputlady · 03/04/2010 21:37

Oliver

saltador · 03/04/2010 21:37

They're all good boys names. I would check the office of national statistics: www.statistics.gov.uk/specials/babiesnames_boys.asp

Obviously you might not mind having one of the most popular names, at least a lot of people like it! Or you might prefer it if there weren't too many others with the same name, although no guarantees.

I didn't check this list with my DD and chose the most popular name, completely by accident (I never met anyone with this name, other than as a middle name). I was horrified at first, but then thought at least it means people liked the name and as it turns out so far we have not had anyone else with the same name wherever we've been although I am aware that there is at least one other with the same name in the school.

It did seem the right name when she was born and I saw her, so maybe you just have to meet him and you'll know. We had favourite names for my DD and my DS which were just confirmed when we met them.

That said, out of your names I like Finn or Oliver!

Does this help? Good Luck

sassysass · 03/04/2010 21:42

Noah, Finlay/Finn & Oliver/Ollie are my faves but all very popular!

Alfie and Zack I don't like. Charlie & Ben are OK.

How about Oscar, Elliot, Dylan, Archie, Jacob, Theo, Austin, Samuel or Leo..?

pipinmybelly · 03/04/2010 22:37

jellybeans · 03/04/2010 23:50

finlay/finn...same as above and prob be a girls name in future
ben...like
oliver/ollie...far far too popula

alfie...ditto above
noah...love it
zack...love it

My faves are Noah and Zack by a mile.

dillydallydolly · 04/04/2010 00:26

love - Ben/Benjamin, Oli/Oliver, Alf/Alfie
not keen on - Noah, Charlie, Finlay

me likey - Fintan, Nathanial/Nathan/Nate/ (Nat/Natti/N

good luck deciding and I agree with the previous poster who said they did'nt completly decide untill baby was born, you'll probably just know which fits best with them at that time.
If you don't you have got ages before you need to register them and if you are like me I didnt even use his name for about a week... kept calling him baba and DD was babydoll for ages too!! (we had even shortlisted and knew straightaway which fitted

pipinmybelly · 04/04/2010 19:28

Am desperatly trying to work out your name now
Don't suppose it matters if it does,, unless you are'nt comfortable with it? how does it sound to you?? could it get annoying?
People dont always listen or might mishear if they get caught up in the fact your names just rhymed to them, you may find you have to repeat your names over to people. A friend had a little boy called ryan and I convinced myself she had said brian!?!
