we are having a baby in September he/she will be dc3 so we have used our top names

dc1 dd is Annalise
dc2 ds is Ezekiel ( Zeke)

we are sorted on a girls name she would be a miriam ( miri as a nn)

but we're really stumped for a boys name
I like long names that can be shortened to a nice nickname and so far they have been biblicalish but not to worried about that.
I'm avoiding doing same initials for our family so that also takes out S and J but would have a boy thats and S if we found a name we loved
also waht is a good baby naming book?

Levi

Levi is great, makes me think of Primo Levi, I had that on my list too

pitterpatterfeet · 03/04/2010 21:23

I thought Primo Levi was pronounced Lev-i as opposed to Lee-vi for a first name. Always makes me think of jeans

thisisyesterday · 03/04/2010 21:33

yes, that's how I would pronounce Levi

sassysass · 03/04/2010 21:47

I know an Ezekiel with a Daniel as a brother.

Gabriel goes really well.

tummytickler · 03/04/2010 23:28

yes Levi should be pronounced Lev-ee, not Lee-Vie (which i think is horrid).
I like Levi, we wont use it because i know he'd get the other pronunciation which i dont like, more often than i would like.

What about Moses, Omri, Abraham?

susiey · 04/04/2010 07:31

I love Josiah but no J's as we already have a male j in our house so could get confusing with the post!
The Levi name would be great but would be worried about people pronounciations
Gabriel is nice though and could have some cute shortenings .
Trouble is I could name 1000 girls but really struggle for boys names
