Not keen, I know one Ursula and she uses her middle name. It also reminds me of Pheobe, from Friends, as she has a twin called Ursula.

Horrid, sounds harsh.

Pancakeflipper · 03/04/2010 13:00

I love it.
A fav name of mine. But just didn't suit my boys.

DinahRod · 03/04/2010 13:04

Poohbearsmom · 03/04/2010 13:09

It's a nice name. Means little bear - which is quite cute (for a little 'un, anyway).

LetThereBeRock · 03/04/2010 13:33

Horrid.

Divatheshopaholic · 03/04/2010 13:42

No way, definately must avoid name.

schroedingersdodo · 03/04/2010 13:42

I like it. Strong, beautiful, traditional, there's only one way to write, works in many languages, not too popular, etc etc. DH doesn't like it

I know a 10 yo Ursula, and tbh, I don't think it fits a child. Nice for someone older. I knew one growing up, and imo she carried it well because she was very edgy (twas the punk era) and arty.

LetThereBeRock · 03/04/2010 17:59

It doesn't bother me in the least if you do. I'm sure a lot of people don't like my first name either. It really doesn't bother me.

I wasn't the only one who said it's horrid anyway and we were asked to give an honest opinion, and I don't like the name.
It's not personal. I was responding to Sunchild anyway not to you.

plonker · 03/04/2010 18:11

I hear Ursula, I see the sea witch.

Maybe thats just because of the age of my children though ...

LynetteScavo · 03/04/2010 18:13

I've only known one Ursula, and she was lovely, but for some reason, I've never liked the name.

elmofan · 03/04/2010 19:17

ohhh the girl that bullied me at school was named Ursula , so for that reason alone i dont like it

shockers · 03/04/2010 19:22

I knew a very beautiful lady called Ursula. She was gentle, cultured and ladylike... I love it.

madly · 03/04/2010 19:28

Love it!
