DrivenToDistraction · 29/03/2010 20:33

Benjamin

David is very depressing

DrivenToDistraction · 29/03/2010 20:33

IMO

crockydoodle · 29/03/2010 20:38

Benjamin. David makes me think of politicians

blametheparents · 29/03/2010 20:41

Benjamin - lovely name

You must like the nn Ben though, cos he will get called that too

SingleMum01 · 29/03/2010 20:55

Benjamin - because I have one! Means favourite son

lifeas3plus1 · 29/03/2010 21:04

David is much much nicer.

Benjamin is a bit bland imo.

babyincubator · 29/03/2010 21:11

love, love, love Benjamin - it is top of my boy's list - as love Benji as nn

AllieW · 30/03/2010 11:28

David is probably the least popular of the two, I'd imagine. But it does remind me of "Call me Dave" Cameron.

I tend to prefer Benedict to Benjamin.

bargainhuntingbetty · 30/03/2010 11:29

You dont hear of many David's these days but Benjamin is very popular. I love Benjamin though I think it is a lovely name. I dont like David it is too old fashioned and boring in my opinion.

diddl · 30/03/2010 11:31

Benjamin.
I think David is bland/old.

5DollarShake · 30/03/2010 11:34

Benjamin is MORE bland than David?

David is the most bland name there is!!

Everyone knows at least 5 Daves. Troof.

Bucharest · 30/03/2010 11:35

Neither would be on my list, but Benjamin is not not ever never going to end up being called that, is he? He is, inevitably, going to be Ben. Along with trillions of other Bens.
So, I'd opt for David, for that reason alone.
Although I do agree it's a bit politician/civil servant/schoolteacher/Uncle-ish.

SingleMum01 · 30/03/2010 18:34

In my Ben's school year there is only him, and only a couple of others in the school. Plus I think you need a name you can shorten or lengthen - Benjamin when being told off!

MummyDoIt · 30/03/2010 18:38

Benjamin is spoiled for me as I know two of them and they are both little horrors! However, if I put them out of my mind, I think I prefer Benjamin as a name to David. 'Tis very popular where we live, thouogh. There are six of them in the DSs Beaver group!!!

keepingeverythingcrossed · 30/03/2010 18:47

My dog's called Dave (grin)

keepingeverythingcrossed · 30/03/2010 18:48

My dog's called Dave that should do it!

BridesheadRegardless · 30/03/2010 18:50

David. It's a lovely currently underused name.

Benjamin is a verging on twee currently much over used name.

Shortening to 'Dave' is a worry though.

BuzzingNoise · 30/03/2010 18:50

I like both. I would choose David myself because it's less popular at the moment.
