Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

I like Katie but would register a longer name to give her a choice when she's older.
I quite like them all. Maybe Olivia best.

Skegness · 27/03/2010 23:38

I like Harriet, Katie (but even better with a y) and Matilda.

ReneRusso · 28/03/2010 14:46

thanks, bumping though - any more views please?

Katie - but go for Katherine/Kathryn. I have one I planned to call Katie but she didn't ever look like one and at 10 she has chosen Kathy and it is soooo cool!

theagedparent · 28/03/2010 14:50

Like Matilda best then Harriet

dizzydixies · 28/03/2010 16:21

they're all ok apart from Leonie which isn't to my taste

thedollshouse · 28/03/2010 16:38

Harriet, Madeleine, Matilda and Olivia are my favourites. I know loads of little girls called Olivia but it is popular for a reason, it is a beautiful name. Those four names were also in our top ten, my particular favourite is Harriet which you don't hear of that often.

What are your other daughters called?

bibbitybobbityhat · 28/03/2010 16:57

Madeline but spelled Madeleine.

I'd hazard a guess that all the others apart from maybe Harriet and Leonie are in the girls Top 10.

janeite · 28/03/2010 17:02

I like Harriet best. I wanted it for dd2 but dp didn't. I STILL think it would have suited her, nearly 13 years later!

ReneRusso · 28/03/2010 18:36

dollshouse, they are called Amelia and Isobel. They were relatively unusual at the time, honest.
I know they're (nearly) all quite common, and yes I'm really boring. I don't really go for wacky names.

Olivia

DuelingFanjo · 28/03/2010 18:46

not keen on Abigail or Leonie. Like the rest, particularly Matilda and Katie.

monetinapril · 28/03/2010 18:50

Harriet

janeite · 28/03/2010 18:52

Amelia, Isobel and Harriet are gorgeous together.

Maggie00 · 28/03/2010 18:54

Leonie and Olivia.

ozmetric · 28/03/2010 19:40

Abigail

thedollshouse · 28/03/2010 21:04

They aren't boring they are lovely and your choices all go really well together.

Horton · 28/03/2010 21:10

Harriet, Matilda and Olivia all lovely. Kate is much nicer than Katie, I think.

Leonie seems sort of old-fashioned (in a 70s way) to me, not sure why. Don't like either Abigail or Madeline.

Harriet is my top choice.

BrigitteBardot · 28/03/2010 21:12

Matilda is gorgeous.

ReneRusso · 29/03/2010 22:44

DH vetoed Matilda, looks like it might be down to Olivia and Harriet...

OP posts:
Hulababy · 29/03/2010 22:53

Abigail - not so keen, but do like Abi as a nn
Harriet - again, not sure, but like Hattie as a nn
Katie - fine, although think this is a nn and would prefer a full version in birth cert
Leonie - don't like
Madeline - ok
Matilda - love
Olivia - pretty

AllieW · 30/03/2010 10:42

Abigail and Madeleine (spelt this way) are my favourites.

Love them all except Leonie

Rene don't worry about popularity because I tried my best to pick what I thought was an unpopular name for dd1,
the exact words of the midwife were Ahh you never hear old names like that anymore, but all I ever hear now are little girls with her name, I still love it though

PanicMode · 30/03/2010 17:31

I have a Matilda, I love Harriet but it doesn't work with our surname (plus I know about 5 around here), and Olivia is lovely - but very popular, although as others have said, with good reason! The others are a bit 'meh' to me......
