Why are there so many Remy threads at the moment? Are rats gaining in popularity?

moomaa · 26/03/2010 13:03

Sorry but I wouldn't know if it was said Ree-mee or Rem-ee. It makes me think of Renne indegestion tablets!

ps Ellis James is a lovely name, as is Alexander.

Here I am again, Cinderella, with a vote for Remy Alexander. I think it's a really nice name and mn, and will go very well with Ellis. It has the same 'feel' as Ellis, same E sound, same number of syllables, same level of unusual-ness.

I don't think the rat association will stick around long. It was a good film, but something else will come along and it will fade.

No-one has any guarantee when they name a child that there won't be some pop culture association cropping up the day after the ink dries on the Birth Cert -- there's no name that's guaranteed film or singer or tv proof. Unless you go for something like Ethelred, Adelbert, Eggfrith, etc.

I think it's a gorgeous name.

Just sounds like trying to hard to me. But I like practically nothing on MN name threads, so don't listen to me!

LynetteScavo · 28/03/2010 20:15

I goes very well with Ellis James.

Sounds like a fashion designer to me.

chokl8ee · 29/03/2010 15:50

I like the name. Is it unisex though a girlfriend of mine has just called her daughter Remy?
