Ooh I really like Verity and Constance.

gmtbst · 25/03/2010 00:07

I like Annabel and Constance

puffling · 25/03/2010 00:08

Dd's middle name is Constance. She doesn't like it much though.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 25/03/2010 00:18

I know a Constance, the name makes her seem a lot more formidable than she actually is. Verity seems prissy to me, although I know a lovely one. Annabel is the best IMO because it doesn't mean anything specific.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 25/03/2010 00:52

Oooh, Verity and Constance, two of my favourite virtue names and both on my shortlist for HDD2.

I like Constance. don't like Annabel (too frippy - think Tinkerbel) or Verity.

Problem with Connie is with the back row sniggerers - the kinda lingers brigade.

ZZZenAgain · 25/03/2010 11:26

not keen on Annabel sorry, others I like

Bucharest · 25/03/2010 11:27

I don't like Verity, either its meaning or its sound. Annabel is a bit Camilla P-B to me, but it's OK....I love love love Constance/Connie though!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 25/03/2010 12:54

Nooo! There was supposed to be a clear winner but the response is very mixed!!

LOL

back to the drawing board flowers!

AllieW · 25/03/2010 17:56

I love them all (although I tend to prefer Annabelle to Annabel), but Verity is my favourite. I know two: one a couple of years younger than me and a 7 year-old. They are both total sweethearts. I think it is very pretty.

mathanxiety · 25/03/2010 19:00

I dislike Verity. Love Constance (but not Connie) and also Constanza. Like Annabel a lot.

piscesmoon · 25/03/2010 19:19

Verity is my favourite.

yellowflowers · 25/03/2010 21:21

I don't like verity but annabel and constance are top of my list if we ever have daughters. I live connie/nan/nancy and also annie/bella. Good choices! Hope they don't get too popular though. X

Jenbot · 26/03/2010 00:14

Constance!

confuddledDOTcom · 26/03/2010 00:23

Two of those make me think "Karmel" and "Claire"!

VermontMama · 26/03/2010 01:39

My vote is for Annabelle, and if I may add one that reminds me of the style of the other two: Felicity. I love that name!

specialsmasher · 26/03/2010 07:02

Constance. Top of my list. Love Connie too.

Rockbird · 26/03/2010 09:10

Adore Verity. DH vetoed it for DD but I'm subliminally working on him for a possible DD2. Not keen on Constance but like Connie so would consider Constance to get that. Annabel is nice as long as it's spelled like that. With the 'belle' on the end it starts to look prissy even though the sound is the same.

Rockbird · 26/03/2010 09:11

Noooo Vermont! DH's objection to Verity was that it reminded him of Felicity and he really hates that name

LadyOfTheFlowers · 26/03/2010 11:55

Felicity popped into my head tother day actually.

Really like Verity but am not sure what the shortenings are? Apart from 'V'? Neither can I think of a middle name to go with it apart from Rose- which I really love - but is THE middle name isn't it? Would like Rose as the first name too but it seems to bleed into our surname which starts with S.

I adore Connie and DH says to just call her Connie full stop but I think she should have a proper full first name IYSWIM? Constance is nice but is it too old fashioned?

Would spell Annabel like that, not with Belle as I don't like it that way. Am thinking it's a bit plain as time goes on....?

Funny you should say that helenwombat, the younger Verity (about 7 y.o.) I know always reminds me of a human Mrs Tiggywinkle.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 26/03/2010 12:55

Charlotte - like that too - are there loads of those?
