DP and I cannot agree on anything, we have given up, we don't even talk about it anymore although he did say he would give me a shortlist today.

His names:
Logan
Marcus
Lucas
Damien

My names:
Elliot
Matthew (at a push)

I just don't want an alright name, I love my girls names and want to love my boys as well. Have trawled through loads of websites, been on here asking for suggestions and still nothing.

To make things worse we live in (how can I describe it) West Central Scotland where a boy with your more interesting names might as well have "punch me" tattooed on his head so little Raphael, Benedict or Tobias is out. Names round here for boys tend to be straightforward like Alex, Thomas, Callum, Ryan, James, Andrew, Ben, Nathan, Joseph etc

Am fearful we will never find a name for this boy. We never in a million years thought we would have a boy, we had our girls names sorted.

When I was little, I always loved the name Matthew and wanted to call my baby that if I ever had a boy... but then I ended up marrying one, so that's out for us! It goes nicely with your middle names too.

I love Fraser, and quite like Fergus, but DH vetoed both. MIL is Scottish, so I was kind of thinking of Scottish-y names for a while but apparently it's not to be.

How about Duncan?

I like Daniel and Elliot from previous suggestions.

Not that it helps, but our boy's shortlist is
Oscar, Hugo, Henry. I also floated Digby recently (blame it on getting carried away with hormones if you like) and DH didn't say no...

I will keep my thinking cap on.
