I know it's popular (that doesn't bother us) but is it considered common (ie chav) IYO?

I really like it. We had decided on Pippa but now I'm torn! Would appreciate opinions

do you really care?

TalkingBack · 11/03/2010 23:26

How do you do the times or telegraph search?

Quite - The telegraph has 83 Georgias, but not a single Jorja for the same time period.

I think the classic spelling the best.

ninah · 11/03/2010 23:28

omg, yes you do

Ellokitty · 11/03/2010 23:32

Talking back - Go to the telegraph website and just search for 'announcements'. It will then allow you to search their announcements, just click on births.

The Times, you can look at their announcements, but does not seem to have a search facility.

Georgia is a bit common, try Redbin for a more sophisticated name.

I've spent quite a while searching names and seeing how many times they come up

Op - What is difference between a "popular" and a "common" name? I am intrigued...

RachieB · 12/03/2010 12:30

Georgia is lovely

I do not like the spelling Jorja, yuck!

"Modern American English variant respelling of the classic Georgia"

I love Georgia and Georgina, both on my list for any subsequent DDs we have.

I've only known one Georgia and she was quite posh.
