I have a Daisy.
I like Mabel, Edith or Edie, Eliza and Alice.
Have always liked Esther but my niece is named that.

PepsiPopcorn · 17/03/2011 08:59

From your shortlist I like Florence and Clementine :)

NotAnotherNewNappy · 17/03/2011 13:20

Florence is a sort of flower name (apols if someone has already pointed this out). It means 'flowering' or 'in bloom' - the Italian city Firenze was named so as it was full of flowers and our 'Florence' is just the English way of pronouncing Firenze.

It's bar far my fave from your list and I think it goes lovely with Daisy. You can have Florrie or Flora as a nn?

spottyock · 17/03/2011 19:13

Matilda. Like that alot.

Martha or Iris?

kitkat1000 · 17/03/2011 20:08

Sorry hadn't read your previous posts of liking Martha - i have a Martha age 3 and love it- plus you can't shorten it!

blueberrymoon · 17/03/2011 20:26

I like Daisy and Mabel...?

But from your shortlist, I love Daisy and Martha!

Daisy Sophia and Martha Pearl
Daisy Sophia and Martha Imogen
Daisy Sophia and Martha Phoebe
Daisy Sophia and Martha Heidi
Daisy Sophia and Martha Emilia

I know a Daisy with a sister called Jasmine. I think it's a great combination.

Misfitless · 17/03/2011 21:00

I have a Florence and it never gets shortened - but she's only 15 months so there's plenty of time. I will encourage her to have the nn Florrie if she needs one, rather than Flo, but I suppose it's not up to me.

PS Why is Florence so popular Angry. When I thought of it when pregnant I hadn't heard of a single Florence ever - now there are hundreds!

CharlieBoo · 17/03/2011 21:12

I think Daisy and Florence is gorgeous, also love Martha.

I have a Daisy...but she has a big brother so no more naming babies for me ...Sad

Schulte · 17/03/2011 21:12

Florence is a no-no surely since Cameron has one?

NotAnotherNewNappy · 17/03/2011 21:32

NO! It's a lovely name and we can't let the bastard tories ruin everything!!

marriednotdead · 17/03/2011 22:01

I like Daisy and Grace, mainly because they were the names of my great aunts. Would you reconsider? Grin

I can't believe Florence is back in vogue. Exp wanted DD named that after his mum, and I refused as the only association then (late 1980's) was with the Magic Roundabout! How times change...

mathanxiety · 17/03/2011 22:31

Daisy and Scarlett would be a very (American) literary pair. I dislike the name Scarlett though.

Florence is a bit stodgy imo.

I like Charlotte, Matilda, Madeleine and Beatrice, with Matilda the frontrunner.

mathanxiety · 17/03/2011 22:31

How about Lucy?

Jemma1111 · 17/03/2011 22:43

I have a Mia Rose and I think this name sounds nice with Daisy

geisha · 17/03/2011 22:49

I know a Daisy and Lily. Obv very floral but lovely imo

banjomanjo · 17/03/2011 22:51

florence or martha

Has anyone suggested Flora?

Or Rose?

pipplin · 19/03/2011 14:56

Daisy and Florence
I also like Daisy and Matilda, it just sounds nice.

bubbles12 · 19/03/2011 20:36

Knew twins called Daisy and Hannah which I thought was lovely.

Emily135 · 25/02/2019 15:58

Hi,
I know this post is very old but I keep coming back to it when I am googling names for baby number 2. My little girl is Daisy and we are REALLY struggling for a girls name. Which name did you go for in the end? Xx
